3 Diabetes Questions About MicroAneurysms, Normoglycemia, and Insulin Pump?

I have 3 question about diabetes, that I reall need help with:

1. In diabetics (well in any person), can microaneurysms in the eye can be reversed or improved?

2. How can someone who usually have fluctuationg blood sugars obtain normoglycemia, and is there any medication (beside insulin or the insulin pump) that can help with that?

3. If someone who is very active (sports, dance, etc), has the type of blood sugars that is better suited for an insulin pump, is there any other alternative option besides the pump that does the same thing, but
dosent have the big bulky equipment that is required to be carried around for it to work?

Thank You

ok, 2) depends on the type, if type 1 then no, insulin is required, if type 2 then there are tablets available and diet and/or exercise
3)no, but a pump is not big or bulky, trust me, i’m wearing one but you wouldn’t know that i was unless i told you, it’s smaller than most doctors pagers!

A Reminder about Diabetes

1. It depends on the type. With type 1, insulin is vital. With type 2, there are tablets available and diet/exercise. If in type 2 diabetics this isn’t enough, most doctors give their patients supplemental insulin in order to lower blood glucose levels and maintain normal glucose levels.

2. There are medications out there other than insulin or an insulin pump that can help.

3. An insulin pump in the 21st Century isn’t as bulky as you might think. I have an insulin pump and most people think it’s a cell phone clipped on to my jeans. That’s how small mine is. Here is the link to show you my insulin pump:

I have the Animas 2020 insulin pump, not the One Touch Ping. Simply put, they are not bulky in any aspect. Most people don’t know about my insulin pump unless I tell them it’s there. I usually don’t say anything unless someone asks me if it’s a cell phone or an insulin pump. Many are surprised!

Have you thought about the Omnipod? If you have to carry around a meter anyway might as well carry around one that will since to your pod and release insulin! They have some pretty good videos on youtube about the pump. Good luck!
