A Reminder about Diabetes

Treating diabetes is best carried out during the early stages of the disease when the consequences can still be controlled and minimized. Such an approach will require an early determination of diabetic symptoms. These diabetic symptoms are:

* Extreme and excessive thirst that is quite abnormal
* Hunger even when meals have recently been taken
* Frequent urination
* Fatigue easily creeps in
* Excessive weight loss at such a short period of time
* Smeared vision
* Nagging impatience that has recently been developed

If you are interested in more info on treatment for type 2 diabetes, you may wish to refer to this site :

Diabetes sports

It's likely that you're still regulating the ater in your body after diarrhea, but testing your blood sugar with your doctor sounds like it should be in order just to be sure.

Insuling Pen Timer

It's all in your head, you proabably don't have diabetes. But if you really start to have symptoms, i would recommend asking your parents about it. And diabetes isn't all that bad, if you do end up having it. My older sister has diabetes, and she lives a relatively normal life. She just has to check her blood sugar before every meal, and watch the candy (unless it's sugar-free, but don't worry, there are LOTS of sugar-free, tasty, candies out there, even though you probably don't notice them now)

no, not diabetes, you are supposed to urinate every two hours while awake, so your pattern there is completely normal. You are right, you are being overly paranoid.

Have you thought about the Omnipod? If you have to carry around a meter anyway might as well carry around one that will since to your pod and release insulin! They have some pretty good videos on youtube about the pump. Good luck!

Need a reminder about insulin?

ive got hypoglycemic anemia, and that does sound like the feeling i get sometimes...

it doesn't matter which it is, your kidney problem or hypoglycemia, go to a doctor, if it is hypoglycemia then its better you catch it sooner than later.

good luck, i hope everything turns out okay for you :)

A Reminder about Diabetes

1. It depends on the type. With type 1, insulin is vital. With type 2, there are tablets available and diet/exercise. If in type 2 diabetics this isn't enough, most doctors give their patients supplemental insulin in order to lower blood glucose levels and maintain normal glucose levels.

2. There are medications out there other than insulin or an insulin pump that can help.

3. An insulin pump in the 21st Century isn't as bulky as you might think. I have an insulin pump and most people think it's a cell phone clipped on to my jeans. That's how small mine is. Here is the link to show you my insulin pump:

I have the Animas 2020 insulin pump, not the One Touch Ping. Simply put, they are not bulky in any aspect. Most people don't know about my insulin pump unless I tell them it's there. I usually don't say anything unless someone asks me if it's a cell phone or an insulin pump. Many are surprised!

A Diabetes timer

If you think you might be diabetic, your doctor can do a quick test to make sure. All they do is prick your finger and test your blood sugar. If you live in the UK, your local chemist should be able to do it without an appointment. Otherwise, go see your doctor. Good luck!
