How long will the pregnancy glucose screening take?
I took the 1 hour one and my doctor wants me to go for the 3 hour one tomorrow. How long will I have to be at the doctor’s office? Have any of you had the 3 hour test and what was the outcome? I think I definitely have gestational diabetes because my mother has type 2. I’m not overweight and do eat a balanced diet!!
The three hour test takes a little over three hours. You go to the doctor’s office, and they take your blood. Then, you drink the glucose drink, and they test your blood every hour for three hours. And then you’re done!
It takes a while, and you need to hang out in the waiting room, so it’s a good idea to bring books or music. I brought my laptop with some episodes of TV on it and kept myself distracted that way

Just to reassure you–I failed my 1 hour, and passed my 3 hour. My doctor said that only 15% of women who fail the 1 hour actually have gestational diabetes–so your chances are pretty good.
